We need a robust and modern transportation infrastructure to support a dynamic economy, improve our air quality, create more jobs, and ensure that Colorado is positioned to compete. Colorado Democrats have taken transformative action to fix our roads and bridges, improve transit options, meet Colorado’s climate goals, and future-proof the state’s transportation system but the work is far from over.

We need to continue to invest in our roads and bridges to ensure that the growing population in Colorado can get to work on time, and that small businesses can move their goods and services around the four corners of our state with efficiency and ease. At the same time, we must keep our climate goals in mind because our transportation system is a key emitter of greenhouse gasses. I have been, and will continue to be, a staunch supporter of a Front Range Passenger Rail system from Pueblo to Fort Collins.
I am proud to have passed the legislation that created a Colorado Transportation Technology and Innovation Center, which is housed at CSU Pueblo. This center will be the frontline of transportation research and technological development in our state, and will equip future infrastructure development leaders for high tech jobs that will power Colorado’s future.
I will keep fighting to modernize our transportation system and ensure it meets the needs of Coloradans while taking their health and safety into account.
